Moving West Virginia's Workforce Forward: Re-Thinking Dependent Care Options

Now is the time for West Virginia to reimagine dependent care options that help care providers stay in business and meet the needs of working families.

There may never be a greater appreciation for caregiving programs than in 2020. As the COVID-19 pandemic stretches on and continues to disrupt societal norms, millions of American families have been affected by the closures of care facilities for their young children, aging parents or family members with disabilities.

Even before the coronavirus ever upended home and work lives worldwide, West Virginia Women Moving Forward recognized dependent care access as instrumental to the sustainability and growth of jobs, businesses and local economies.

Read the latest WV Women Moving Forward report that offers new research on how to improve dependent care business models to help West Virginia families, businesses and economies thrive.
