West Virginia First Girls-Only VEX Robotics Competition
Dr. Afrin Naz, a member of the WVWMF Education group, is hosting a robotics competition for girls at the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center on March 20. The competition aims to get girls excited about STEM careers.
16 teams completely composed of female middle school and high school students will participate in the competition. Participants will hear from leaders in STEM education and industries, learn more about the impact of women in the STEM fields and workforce and compete in a fun VEX robotics scrimmage. This event serves as the kick-off for an ongoing program to increase female participation in STEM by recruiting and sponsoring all-female robotics teams statewide.
If you are a female middle or high school student who is already involved in competitive robotics, or would like to be, please consider applying for this exciting opportunity!
